From MAFCA'S MARCH NEWSLETTER "THE FLYING QUAIL"
The Autumn Trails antique car parade in Winnsboro, Texas on the fourth Saturday of October each year is one of our favorite times. (Master Model A movie maker, the late Victor Duncan made one of his movies about Autumn Trails.) A couple of years ago, well I guess it was three since AT’s as shut down like everything else in 2020, we were able to get three of the four family Model A’s together for a photo. This is my all time favorite photo.  Our ‘29 Murray Town Sedan, our son’s low mileage, unrestored ‘30 Murray Town Sedan and our daughter’s ‘31 steelback Victoria.  (courtesy of John Icenhower)

INTERNATIONAL MODEL A DAY - sATURDAY

September 16, 2023

The Autumn Trails A/s, Dallas Ford Model A Club and the Tyler Model A Ford are taking a road tour through east Texas and meeting up at the Mid America Flight Museum.

A group will leave the parking lot of the Brooshires grocery store, in Quitman, at 9 a.m.

Travel will be Hwy 37, north to Winnsboro, taking a right on FM 515 / Coke Road to Hwy 11 and turning right, east towards Pittsburgh / Mt. Pleasant.  Take the Loops 271 to Mount Pleasant, and the address is 602 Mike Hall Parkway, Mount Pleasant, Tx, 75455.

The first International Model A Day began in 2008 when Bruce Adams and others came up the idea for this event, first held in 2009.

Many chapters celebrated International Model A Day on the weekend of September 16, 2023.  Several groups plan to send accounts of their events to share on the MAFCA web site at www.mafca.com.

Movie & Tour at Mineola Lake Country Playhouse & Historic Select Theater

From the Ford Model A club, The Autumn Trails A's, hobbyists and fans.
Gas up your Model A's and come join us for a little Day Tour to Mineola, Texas!  Attendees can come from near and far, find a spot to have lunch on the way or eat in Mineola, and then meet us at 1:30 p.m. for a tour of the historic Lake Country Playhouse, the oldest, Continuous-running theatre in Texas
At 2:00 p.m., we'll grab some refreshments from the Select Theater concession stand and we will watch "Speedy", a 1928 silent movie starring Harold Lloyd.
We are working with the City of Mineola to block off the parking in front of the theatre for the Model A's. If this goes over well, we may to try to do this again in September, 2024 for International Model A Day, because we can also cater food at the theatre!

aUTUMN tRAILS a'S hISTORY

The 4th Weekend in each October, the Autumn Trails A's hosts a get together in east texas for

Originally founded in 1963, the Autumn Trails Model A Ford Club focuses on the historic preservation, restoration and era-associated memorabilia of the Model A Ford, produced from 1928-31.

The purpose of the club is to maintain an enjoyable hobby around the Model A Ford, increase awareness and interest in the hobby, as well as promoting historic preservation and tourism transportation.

In 1975, a movie was made about the Antique Car weekend of Autumn Trails in Winnsboro, TX. Victor Duncan rented out movie equipment and held classes to teach students how to use the equipment, from shooting the film, cutting, editing and producing. He made many films about the Model A Ford cars, like working on brakes, carburetors, cooling system. This is one of them films.

WHAT WE DO
WE APPRECIATE ALL OUR MODEL A FORD HOBBY FRIENDS

The Autumn Trails Model A Club members meet once a month and go on periodic group tours.  They exchange ideas, information and parts for admirers of the 1928-1931 Model "A" Ford car, and to aid them in their efforts to restore and preserve the car in its original likeness.  The Club has many regional members who conduct year-round tours to historic sites, attend museum and entertainment venues, and travel the scenic roads of eastern Texas.  The yearly Autumn Trails celebration is held in Winnsboro each weekend in October, with the Autumn Trails Antique Car Rally held the fourth weekend; now held for over 58 years, since 1963.
